When I am looking at this photo I still feel the light morning wind that was blowing at the time I was taking this photograph. It was half past seven AM, around -1°C and the orange sunshine was cutting the mountain’s top…

Matterhorn #1/26

Here we had another beautiful morning, giving us a unique view of Matterhorn. It’s no wonder that this peak is considered to be one of the most gorgeous ones on earth!

Matterhorn #2/26

matterhorn_02

This photograph is taken at the same moment as the second picture above, just the Matterhorn peak is zoomed a little bit to give you an idea how hard it must be to climb this holy of “holies” …

Matterhorn #3/26

matterhorn_03

I took this one during the afternoon. The funny thing is that I saw a very similar photo on a postcard down in a Zermatt shop. I guess we both intended to have a larch on the foreground :~) …

Matterhorn #4/26

matterhorn_04

The beautiful orange view of the Matterhorn peak, that was viewable only for a short time during the early mornings was so fascinating, that I had to take more and more photos!

Matterhorn #5/26

matterhorn_06

It may seem really boring at this point for some viewers, because all the photos look so similar. I still like every single one and to say the truth many photos that I had taken have not been published over here at all..

Matterhorn #7/26

matterhorn_07

Lets switch to another scene finally! :~) I snapped this one from the train on my way to Gornergrat. I have a special feeling about this photo even though it may not look as special for all of you.

Matterhorn #8/26

matterhorn_08

This photo was taken at a funny moment. An airplane was getting near Matterhorn so I ran inside for my camera and made a few pictures.

Matterhorn #9/26

matterhorn_10

This photo was snapped from a hill that I conquered after a half-hour hike. I know this photo is nothing special, but I have to include it just for the sake of my memories. Every now end then I think of the deep snow and the slow approach towards the[...]

Matterhorn #11/26

matterhorn_12

This photo is also among my most favorite pictures that I have taken during my stay in Zermatt. It is really hard to say if there is a nicer place on Earth.. :~)

Matterhorn #13/26

matterhorn_13

On this picture you can see a typical image of a very strong WEST wind. The cable-cars and chairlifts were closed with only one T-lift open in the Matterhorn glacier paradise.

Matterhorn #14/26

matterhorn_14

Thanks to moderate snowfalls during the evening and the whole night the strong wind was blowing snow from all the higher peaks including the mighty Matterhorn..

Matterhorn #15/26

matterhorn_16

On the foreground of this picture there are two pillars of two cable cars. The first bigger cable car pillar is used for various transportation purposes. The second cable car is for transportation of ski-snowboard-freaks.

Matterhorn #17/26

matterhorn_17

This picture was taken from the platform of the cable car mentioned above, which takes visitors to the Furi station and also Matterhorn paradise..

Matterhorn #18/26

matterhorn_18

Here we have the first photograph from the cabin of the cable car. This thrilling view is available every day to everyone traveling to the Matterhorn glacier paradise.. :~)

Matterhorn #19/26

matterhorn_19

I took another ‘cabin’ photo with the peak a little bit hidden behind the hill. There is also a nice chapel as you can see on the foreground of this picture.

Matterhorn #20/26

matterhorn_20

The first picture on this last page is a view of Matterhorn from higher altitude. The photo was taken at the Trockener Steg cable car station around 2939 meters above the sea level.

Matterhorn #21/26

matterhorn_21

This picture makes me happy mainly because of the Matterhorn model in the foreground. This silhouette made of snow looks pretty much like the real Matterhorn in the background! Impressive…

Matterhorn #22/26

matterhorn_22

As you can see the view of Matterhorn from this place is pretty much different than the famous ‘Swiss chocolate’ views that could be seen on the previous photos.

Matterhorn #23/26

matterhorn_23

Finally we are at the top! Actually not yet , because this is the end station of the cable car to the Klein Matterhorn. This photo was taken directly after getting of the cable car at around 3850 meters above the sea level.

Matterhorn #24/26

matterhorn_25

This last photo of the Matterhorn gallery is a view of Matterhorn from the highest sightseeing platform in Europe accessible by cableway at 3883 meters above sea level! Can you get any higher? Without a hike :~D
